about me
I've been taking pictures my whole life. In my images, I look for balance and proportion, an interesting scene or concept, and an unexpected way of looking at things. The first photograph I took was of then-Mayor (now Governor!) Gavin Newsom. He was visiting my pre-school and I got bored while he gave his speech, so I asked my mom to teach me how to use her camera. I walked up to him and took a portrait, which later appeared in the San Franciso Chronicle. He now has that photograph in his personal art collection.
Since then, I've learned how to do darkroom photography as well as work with Sony DSLR cameras, and edit my work with photo-editing software. I take pictures of things as mundane as the asphalt on a street to the view from the top of the Eiffel Tower. My artwork is now in the permanent collection of the San Francisco Public Utilities Commission, and hangs in their headquarters. It also has been exhibited in the San Francisco Arts Commission Gallery and the M.H. De Young Museum. I also began making films several years ago, and have been fortunate to have my films shown in film festivals worldwide.
